New Family Medicine Physician Joins Wheeling Hospital Health Centers in St. Clairsville, Powhatan Point

A new family physician is accepting patients in St. Clairsville and in Powhatan Point.
Belmont Community Hospital (BCH) officials have announced the addition of Dr. Mahaveer Mukkamalla to its health centers in the two communities.
Mukkamalla, who recently completed his family medicine residency at Wheeling Hospital, is accepting new patients, ages pre-school through adults. BCH is a division of Wheeling Hospital.
Mukkamalla is seeing patients at the St. Clairsville Health Center from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays, and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursdays. At the Powhatan Health Center, he will see patients from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays. At both locations, patients seeking earlier appointments can be accommodated.
After completing his pre-medical education at Maganti Residential College, Mukkamalla received his medical degree at Guntur Medical College, Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, India. He completed his internship at Government General Hospital and served residencies at Yashoda Hospital, India, internal medicine; Northumbria Health Care, England, general practice-internal medicine; Sri Venkateswara Nursing Home, India, general practice; George Washington University Hospital, Washington, D.C., clinical observer in internal medicine; Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Hyderabad, India, medical ICU; and Wheeling Hospital, family medicine.
