Neurologist Dr. Govindan Joins Wheeling Hospital

WHEELING, W.Va. – Dr. Srini Govindan, a neurologist, has joined the Physician Practice Division of Wheeling Hospital.
Govindan has maintained a practice in Wheeling since 1979. He is also a clinical assistant professor of neurology at West Virginia University (WVU) School of Medicine. Govindan is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. He is credentialed in neurophysiology, Botox, pediatric and adult sleep medicine, Transcranial Doppler/ Cerebral Blood Flow and CEEG (Computerized EEG Dynamic Brain Mapping).
After graduating from Madras Medical College in Madras, India, Govindan completed residencies in internal medicine at Charleston Area Medical Center, neurology and pathology at WVU School of Medicine. He also went on to complete a neuropathology residency at the University of Maryland and obtained a Nuclear Regulatory Commission license.
Govindan is practice-certified in neurological nuclear medicine by the American College of Nuclear Physicians for Brain SPECT. In addition, he is a diplomate of the American Academy of Pain Management and American Board of Forensic Medicine.
A senior member of the American Association of Neuropathology, Govindan also has been director of an MDA clinic. He was a panel member of American Academy of Disability Evaluating Physicians (AADEP) Position Paper on Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Impairement and Disability Issues. Govindan also is Fellow of the AADEP and performs workers compensation evaluations.
He is past president and executive director of American Academy of Thermology and American Board of Thermology, and is on the Editorial Board of Thermology International. Govindan has performed clinical drug research and been extensively published. In addition, he has been course director at University of South Florida and New York University in meetings on neuropathic pain.
