Employer Health Services Advocate Program

The Employer Health Services Advocate Program is a health care cost containment/health improvement program created specifically for the benefit of employers. The program answers companies' concerns about health care costs' impact on their bottom line, and demonstrates how companies can quickly take steps to reduce these costs.

The advocate program will help companies of any size identify their employees' health problems and set up cost-effective programs to lessen these problems.

Under the program, an advocate trained to understand both business and health care settings will be assigned to each selected participating workplace to analyze past medical and Workers Compensation claims. There is no cost to the company for the analysis; all analytical costs will be covered by Wheeling Hospital.

Through the Employer Health Services Advocate Program, employers are able to develop ways to promote avoidance of health problems among their employees while lowering company costs for health services. Hospital programs and services are introduced to the employers as a way to improve their employees' health.

Through preventive measures, employees can take advantage of health education, risk assessment, screening programs and job site evaluations. Wellness programs offered at the Wheeling Hospital's Howard Long Wellness Center play a key role in promoting disease prevention.
