COPD Awareness
The Pulmonary Lab has launched a Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) awareness campaign called the GOLD Program. The GOLD program is a global initiative that was launched in collaboration with the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), National Institutes of Health USA and the World Health Organization.
The objectives of GOLD are to recommend effective COPD management and prevention strategies, and increase awareness among the medical community, public health officials and the general public as to the prevalence, diagnosis and treatment of COPD.
