Our Services

VNA of Medical Park Services Available in the Home

Skilled Nursing Care
Registered nurses perform care ordered by the physician that would ordinarily take place in the hospital, such as complicated dressing changes, catheter care, IV therapy, enterostomal therapy and psychiatric nursing. When appropriate, nurses will teach patients and/or families the skills necessary to provide the care at home, enabling patients and families to cope with special needs. This includes education on disease processes, nutrition, medications, IV administration and wound care.

Physical Therapy
Physical therapists administer specific exercises to help patients' physical rehabilitation in conditions involving stroke, arthritis, joint replacement, neuromuscular disease and amputation. They also can use exercises to improve the strength of patients who have returned home following a debilitating disease or prolonged hospital stay.

Occupational Therapy
Occupational therapists evaluate levels of function and implement care programs to help patients return to an independent lifestyle, with particular focus on activities of daily living.

Speech Therapy
Speech therapists evaluate speech and language difficulties and provide therapy for stroke, head injury and laryngectomy recovery.

Medical Social Services
Medical social workers counsel patients and families with social and emotional problems that may accompany patients' medical conditions. They help with referrals to outside assistance agencies and assist patients and families with advanced directives and coordination of community resources.

Home Health Aides
Home health aides assist with personal care and the basic daily routines of bathing, shampooing, shaving, skin care and ambulation.
