Union Local Students Design, Donate Coloring Books
June 23, 2017
Students of Union Local High School art teacher Lisa Marple display coloring books they designed and are donating to Wheeling Hospital. Seated are Marple’s students Alli Delaney, left, and Danielle Merritt. Delaney served as club president in 2015-16 and Merritt served in that position in 2016-17. Standing are Marple, left, who also is Art Club advisor, and Leigh Scherich, Wheeling Hospital clinical director of nursing. Coloring books are commonly used as busy work and can be included in art therapy. The books will be distributed to patients at Wheeling Hospital and its Bishop Joseph H. Hodges Continuous Care Center.
