New Board President Elected at Wheeling Hospital
April 24, 2008
WHEELING, W.Va. – Wheeling Hospital today announced that the Rev. Kevin Quirk was unanimously elected president of its board of directors.
Quirk replaces Lawrence Bandi as president. The Most Rev. Michael J. Bransfield, Bishop of the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston and chairman of the hospital board, praised Bandi for his “leadership as president.”
Quirk said, “I sincerely appreciate the board’s confidence in me. I feel very strongly about Wheeling Hospital and the important role it plays in the community. With each of us working together, we will continue to grow the hospital to meet the needs – current and future – of local residents. Since its founding in 1850, this hospital has served as an anchor for our community, and that commitment is stronger than ever.”
Quirk serves the diocese as judicial vicar and as rector of the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Wheeling. The diocese operates the hospital and its various affiliates.
