BCH Earns Lifeline Award

October 29, 2018

Belmont Community Hospital (BCH) in Bellaire, a division of Wheeling Hospital, has earned Platinum Recognition for the third consecutive year for promoting enrollment in state organ donor registries. The Platinum Award is the highest possible recognition and is part of a campaign sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Health Resources and Services Administration. The national campaign is a special effort to educate staff, patients, visitors and community members about the critical need for organ, eye and tissue donors. BCH earned points toward its Platinum status by implementing activities to raise awareness and, by doing so, increased the number of potential donors on the state’s donor registry. Kathy Warhola, middle, regional representative for Lifeline of Ohio, presents the award to BCH Vice President John DeBlasis, left, and Teresa Rinkes, BCH liaison for Lifeline of Ohio. For more information about BCH’s participation in this campaign, contact Rinkes at 740-671-1476 or www.lifelineofohio.org.
