CADIZ – “Hospice 101” is the topic of the next free Lunch & Learn workshop May 2 at Harrison Community Hospital (HCH).
Scheduled for noon-1 p.m. in the HCH cafeteria, the program will feature Patricia Mozena of Valley Hospice. She will discuss how hospice works to improve a patient’s quality of life through the comfort of care and symptom management, and by providing instruction, assistance and support to the patient’s caregivers.
According to the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, approximately 1.7 million people with life-limiting illnesses are cared for by the nation’s hospice providers every year.
Lunch & Learn workshops are held on the first Thursday of every month except December. Attendees may bring their lunch or buy one in the cafeteria. A snack and beverages will be provided. Reservations are not needed.
HCH is a division of Wheeling Hospital.
