HCH Special Delivery

September 25, 2019

Harrison Community Hospital (HCH) provided a “special delivery” Sept. 11 when it welcomed baby Klaus Crumbley. When mom Cassandra Fleming was brought by HCH EMS to the Emergency Department ready to deliver, Dr. Michael Klapchar, Dr. Kara O’Karma and the rest of the care team sprang into action to provide mom and baby with a safe and comforting birthing experience. Klaus is already settled in at home with mom, dad and big brother Jaxon. “It’s always an exciting time to bring new life into the world,” said Nicole Ourant, Acute Care RN. “Without a Labor and Delivery Department, this is a rare event. And it’s wonderful knowing the qualified staff at HCH work together to provide the best care for all patients in all situations.” From left are: Ourant; Jaxon Crumbley; Klapchar; Fleming; baby Klaus; Shelly Litman, HCH house supervisor; O’Karma; and Dale Lackey, HCH EMS paramedic. HCH continued to show their affection for little Klaus by hosting a baby shower for him later in the month.
