Familiar Voice Retiring from Wheeling Hospital

After 40 years of devoted service, Maryanne Spurlin is retiring from Wheeling Hospital, with Thanksgiving as her last day. Currently a switchboard operator, Spurlin provides patients, staff and visitors with daily announcements for Holy Mass, parking information and other helpful messages. During her tenure at Wheeling Hospital, she has worked in a multiple departments including the business office, volunteer office and front desk. While Spurlin will surely be missed by her colleagues, she won’t be going far – in January she will be back as a hospital volunteer. A reception will be held for Spurlin from 2-3 p.m. Nov. 26 in Conference Room D. From left are Vice President of Corporate Compliance Bruce Archer, Spurlin and CEO Douglass Harrison.
