Harrison Community Hospital Enhances Health Care with Electronic Medical Records
November 22, 2019
CADIZ, OH — Harrison Community Hospital (HCH), a division of Wheeling Hospital, is now fully integrated into the hospital’s electronic health record system. This development allows HCH physicians to view what care a patient has received at any facility within Wheeling Hospital’s health system.
Wheeling Hospital adopted the Sunrise EHR system from Allscripts to streamline health care decision making and improve treatment. Sunrise is designed to enhance documentation and provide key information to physicians in real time as they interact with patients.
The process of having HCH fully-integrated into the Sunrise system has taken over a year, with countless employees involved throughout the implementation process.
“I’m very pleased to have the team at Harrison Community Hospital live on Wheeling Hospital’s Sunrise system,” said Sean Loy, Director of Clinical Informatics and Technology. “With everyone sharing one common computer system, it opens the door to more collaboration within our health system and more options to provide better care to our patients.”
Tony Martinelli, HCH Administrator, noted that “being integrated into a larger system gives us access to resources that small hospital would not normally have. We are excited about the future at HCH.”
