Huntington Fire Chief to Address Opioid Seminar at Wheeling Hospital

WHEELING — Huntington, WV, Fire Chief Jan Rader, who has gained national attention for her battle against the opioid crisis in her city, will talk about her ongoing efforts at a free continuing education seminar on March 19 at Wheeling Hospital.
“Combatting the Opioid Crisis” will begin with a dinner at 6 p.m. in the hospital auditorium. Rader’s talk will start at 6:30 p.m.
Rader, who has 25 years’ experience, is the first female fire chief for a career department in West Virginia. She was named to TIME magazine’s list of 100 Most Influential People in the World in 2018. Every day she is combatting the opioid crisis in Huntington, which has been termed the “overdose capital of America.”
