Howard Long Wellness Center Provides Free Online Fitness Classes
April 2, 2020
WHEELING, WV — COVID-19 has disrupted everyone’s lives and daily routines, including fitness regimens.
In response to this, Wheeling Hospital’s Howard Long Wellness Center is assisting adults of all ages to maintain an exercise routine, for body and mind, by providing live online classes. The classes are being streamed from HLWC’s Facebook page beginning today, April 2.
In addition, the center’s Crossfit trainers will stream workouts on Instagram beginning Friday, with new workouts posted every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Viewers do not have to be members of HLWC to enjoy the free classes.
“We wanted to reconnect with our members, and the entire community, and let them know we are thinking about them during this difficult time,” said Joe Slavik, HLWC director. “What better way than to provide free live exercise classes from their favorite group exercise leaders. Our members get to see a familiar face lead their exercise routine, and our staff gets to help them stay fit and have some fun at the same time.”
The HLWC is bringing many of the same group fitness classes offered at its facility online, including cardio dance, 4x4 fitness, interval, bootcamp, Silver Sneakers, body burn, fit bits, yoga and tai chi. The center’s goal is to empower viewers to feel better and equipped to handle life's challenges though daily activity.
For more information on HLWC and how to participate in these free live classes, go to Facebook.com and search for Howard Long Wellness Center of Wheeling Hospital. For Crossfit, follow Crossfit26003 on Instagram.
