January 27, 2021
WHEELING, WV – Harrison Community Hospital, in collaboration with the Harrison County Health Department, has started COVID vaccinations for county residents. Robert Clendening, 80, of Freeport, was the first to get a vaccine Tuesday morning.
Currently, the inoculations are for residents age 80 and up. To register, call the Health Department at 740-942-2616. This week, the shots are being administered Tuesday through Friday.
HCH Medical Director Dr. Dan Jones said, "We understand that individuals may have some reservations in getting the COVID-19 vaccine. We want folks to remember that these vaccines have been carefully evaluated for safety in clinical trials, have shown to be very effective in preventing COVID-19, and will protect not only you, but your family, friends and loved ones."
