Gary DeGuzman, M.D., is director of Minimally Invasive/Pelvic Reconstructive and Gynecological Robotic Surgery at Wheeling Hospital. Dr. DeGuzman, who is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, uses the da Vinci surgical technology for many of his patients. It is a state-of-the-art surgical technique critical in the management of female abdominal/pelvic disease. The system is one of the newest technologies available for hysterectomies and other conditions such as pelvic organ prolapse, benign and malignant diseases, endometriosis, pelvic adhesive disease and other gynecologic issues. Dr. DeGuzman also is accomplished in the management of high-risk pregnancies and has a special interest in complex gynecologic and laparoscopic surgery, as well as urogynecologic procedures. Dr. DeGuzman earned his medical degree from the Far Eastern University of the Philippines, and completed his internship in Family Practice and his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology with the Reading Health System in Reading, PA. Dr. DeGuzman also is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, and served as an ob-gyn physician at Incirlik Air Base, Turkey.
